'Tis the Season
It's cold outside and smells of evergreens on the inside - in our case, our home seems like a larger-than-expected Douglas Fir that's taken over our living room. And we love it! I've been working on a few Holiday projects this year and I'm looking forward to sharing some of those projects with you all. May your season be a blessed one!

The ODM News Update
Greetings, everyone. A lot has been going on behind the scenes at Ober Digital Media. Our move to Eugene gave us a nice new adventure as well as a little slow down in services. But, we're slowing speeding up again and we wanted to give you an update. So here's the news bulletin:
It's been about 6 months since we made the move and we have enjoyed Eugene immensely. It has been a blast being in a brand new place. Things have gone pretty well. On the business side, we felt a new locale inspired an update in our look. The website is totally new. Visit us at: www.oberdigitalmedia.com
We have quickly become known for our wedding videography. If you haven't seen our work, check it out on Vimeo. We have a few new pieces of equipment that have been great and have improved our technical abilities so we look and sound better than ever. Even if your wedding is a while away, keep us in mind. A few of our clients have been people who told us they wanted to hire us even BEFORE they were engaged. It's quite an honor to get a call from them a year later after they pop the question. Our clients and their families have really enjoyed their video. You will as well, I'm sure. Feel free to pass on the word to other who may be interested.
There haven't been changes to just our logo and we're not only about wedding videos. No sir. We have added on some creative services. Ober Digital Media is now available for:
We are very thankful to all the support and kind remarks on our work that you have given us. It is a great encouragement and a wonderful blessing! You are all awesome in our book.
Thanks,

Mr. & Mrs. Timmons' Wedding Movie Sneak Peek
James and Lacey are a wonderful couple we had the joy of working with recently. They were adorable, thankful, and have a truly sweet love story. We've known them from our days in the Tri-Cities and it was a great honor to have them ask us to be a part of their wedding. This preview shows just a small bit of a really grand day. Michael and I are excited to roll up our sleeves and edit them a great final video (and with so many fantastic shots, it won't be that hard). Congratulations James and Lacey! May the Lord continue to bless you.

Austin and Julie are Married!
Two weeks ago, we were privileged to be a part of Austin and Julie Glass' wedding near Yakima, Washington. It was so much fun and we had a lot of fantastic footage to choose from. We're looking forward to putting the rest of the disc together. Here's a preview of some of our favorite shots!

God's Great Big Love VBS
Michael and I spent part of our week with our church's VBS kids. This basically meant we got to run around and play for a few hours each day. The kids were great and definitely showed us adults who really has the most energy. This week was a wonderful way to get to know some of the church families and their kids, since we're new to the area. In addition to running a couple games, we brought our cameras along and captured a few precious moments. Ah, to be a kid again.....

An Afternoon with the Winninghams
Michael and I have the pleasure to be friends with Toby and Stephanie. Toby is a photographer as well and both of us couples needed some updated couples photos. It's pretty rare that we get to do more than the occasional self-portrait - and it's so much more fun to get a photographer to take them for you. So we took an afternoon, went to our favorite hilltop, and did a photo-swap. They shot us - we shot them.... in the best way, of course.

Kalena Turns One!
Little Kalena had a fabulous first birthday party this month, which of course included delicious chocolate cupcakes. In addition to our photos, we are in the process of editing a short video of the proceedings and look forward to sharing that with you all soon. In the meantime, here are some photos!

A Bit of Holland in Woodburn
This weekend was a great weekend to be outside. Michael and I were fortunate to be invited with some friends to go to the Woodburn Tulip Festival just an hour and a half north of us. I'd never been and it was as colorful as advertised. I never realized how many kinds of different tulips there are! Here's a few of my new favorites.

GSM Heart-to-Heart
In February, we attended the Good Samaritan Ministries first annual Heart-to-Heart Celebration and Auction. See our previous post about the event here. We produced an overview of the event for GSM and you can see it right here! Enjoy.

Wendolyn
Meet my new feline friend, Wendolyn (Wendy for Short), the cat featured in our new blog header. I met her this past January while visiting friends. She was a recent addition to their home and was constantly in play - or insisting on being in someone's lap. Wendolyn loves string, the stair banister and getting her photo taken. She seemed to enjoy batting at the camera as much as she like attacking string. The above photo is one of my favorite images. It makes this spunky, half-crazed teenage kitten look like a regal duchess... or maybe a queen kitty? What do you think?

Heart-to-Heart
Greetings from the green and blossoming Eugene, Oregon! This post is our first from our new location, but it kicks back to a project I got to be involved in last month.
Shortly before our move, I was blessed to be a part of Good Samaritan Ministries' first "Heart-to-Heart Celebration and Silent Auction." GSM is a non-profit counseling organization that helps a lot of people work through tough times and healing from past and present life wounds. There are many offices around Washington, Oregon, Idaho (and beyond) that offer free counseling to those who want it. They also support many GSM counseling offices abroad. GSM Tri-Cities supports work at GSM centers in Rwanda, where counseling and reconciliation has been an important part of rebuilding a country nearly destroyed by the 1994 genocides. Heart-to-Heart was done to raise funds used to go to Rwanda. It was a great success.
It was also a night of desserts, wonderful auction items, and especially wonderful testimony from some who have found great help and healing because of how the Lord worked through GSM. I was especially touched and encouraged.

Going Oregonian
Ober Digital Media is on the move.
A few weeks ago, we were given the opportunity to re-locate to the city of Eugene, Oregon. After thinking and praying it over, we've decided to take it and have an adventure. Therefore, starting in March, we'll be officially Eugene residents. During our transition, ODM will take a few weeks to settle in our new fabulous digs. You are welcome to still contact us about your photo and video needs.
We're very much looking forward to being Oregonians and exploring a new place. We hear they have some fabulous restaurants - not to mention that it is close to the beautiful Oregon coast. Both of us have connections with friends and family in the area. In fact, here's a picture of my folks and their Eugene buddies back in the day:
To our Oregon fans and clients: we are happy to say we are closer than ever! To our Washington and Idaho peeps: even though our commute is longer, there are already plans for us to be in the Tri-Cities from time to time. So please don't hesitate to give us a call. Thank you everyone for your enthusiasm and your business. We plan on continuing the fun, creative and beautiful work we've always done.
Michael and I are excited about the new opportunities the new locale may bring. Stay tuned for changes and updates from the new world of Eugene!

Congratulations Austin and Julie!
We had a great dusting of snow for Austin and Julie's engagement photo shoot. They did great braving the chilly weather to have some great photo moments. Austin also brought along his medium-format film camera to add to the shoot. I look forward to seeing some of those photos when they're developed. Here's some highlights from the digital side of the shoot:

Let the Planning Begin
Among those in the wedding industry, the holiday season is also known as engagement season. I've seen statistics saying that around 1/3 of the engagements in a year occur between Thanksgiving and the New Year. Throw in the upcoming Valentine's Day and you have the perfect planning rush. Michael and I were engaged in November just in time for a speedy 6 months of planning for our June wedding. We were not alone in getting married then. We even had a hard time booking some services due to the popularity of our June date!
It's a whirl-wind time to plan. Thousands of couples are crafting their special weddings. For those of you planning now, we wish you a stress-free journey. Please contact us today about how to preserve your wedding day (the result of all that hard work) with our videography. We already are booking a few dates for the spring and summer.
We are running a special through January. Book us by the 31st and we'll take 25% off your package price. Email us or call us at (509) 961-7444 for details. We look forward to chatting with you.
And for everyone (engaged, married, single, or dating) have a blessed 2010!
